We are lucky to have such great employment partners who want to see at Jobs for Ohio’s Graduates’ (JOG) students put in a position to succeed. From learning skills in the trades to developing interpersonal skills, these companies provide valuable professional development to our kids as part of the JAG Model, setting them up for success in their future careers. TimkenSteel is a great example of an employment partner who works with us in a variety of ways, including sponsoring, providing board representation and event speakers, and sharing information on metal-working and other trades with our youth.

Student Success Stories: Alyssia

Here at Tri-County Jobs for Ohio’s Graduates (JOG), our mission is to help youth with multiple barriers to success complete their education and successfully transition to employment at a livable wage or post-secondary job training. This mission is achieved by having caring Career Specialists who use trauma-informed care to help students feel heard, engaged and confident to complete requirements for their High School education or securing employment. Staff Interview: Heidi Phillips

Tri-County Jobs for Ohio’s Graduates (JOG) has been passionate about expanding our services to as many students as we can in Ohio since our inception in 1987. Career Specialist Heidi Phillips, who has been with JOG for four years now, was one of the biggest helps in rolling out our programming in Trumbull County. When we came into the Trumbull area, Niles McKinley High School was the first district we joined, at which Heidi leads the JOG program.

When thinking about what we do at Tri-County Jobs for Ohio’s Graduates (JOG), most people think of our in-school programs. Though those are very important, so is our out-of-school program. Not every participant we work with is a “traditional” student. Some have dropped out and are looking to obtain their GED. Some have graduated and are looking for career assistance. But most are somewhere in-between.
