JOG the Web: Putting Vision to Action

6/9/2023

Our vision of bringing education and career opportunities to the young people of Northeast Ohio has been the forefront of our mind since day one. Jobs for Ohio’s Graduates (JOG) works to bring educational and career services through a variety of our internal services. We do this best through programs for students like our school-to-career services and work experience programs, as well as having great community partnerships.

Both our in-school and out-of-school programs help students learn what they need for their diploma/GED but it also helps them prepare for their life within a career. They are able to learn lifelong skills that will translate to success including discipline, accountability, trust, hard-work, and positive self-talk as a part of the JOG program, just to name a few. These skills are passed along through the classes hosted by our amazing Career Specialists. We are very proud of the relationships we built through the years in operations across Summit, Stark, Medina, Trumbull, and now Ashland counties We have been able to connect with great businesses that believe in our mission and want to give back. Organizations like TimkenSteel help us at a local level, companies like Old Navy help us through a collaboration with our parent company, Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG). We are happy to foster these relationships all the same. These employer partners open up the ability for our students to go into fields they actually want to be in. We are able to do this through direct employment as well as subsidized work opportunities. To read more on those, please click here to read our past blog post on JOG work opportunities.

Being able to provide the next generation of our workforce with the skills needed to succeed is what we talk about every day at JOG. Doing this through great education programs and real-world work experiences helps these young people get a leg-up in the ever-competitive American workforce. Being able to prove to our 5 county communities that we are not all talk is a vital part of keeping our community partners involved, and we are happy to keep proving that JOG works!
