Reconnect With JOG to Help Empower Today’s Young People!

Jobs for Ohio’s Graduates is proud to have been able to make an impact on our community since 1987. Over this time, we have been able to impart career preparation and academic skills on generations to help build up our workforce. One great way we can keep these programs running so well is through great alumni engagement! Here are some direct ways that JOG alumni help perpetuate JOG’s mission and vision.

First and foremost, one way alumni help extend the mission of the JOG program is by employing the next generation of participants in their companies. We have had plenty of JOG alumni reach out to see if they can become an employer. This is a great opportunity for our participants since their new mentors have been through the JOG program themselves and can help directly with work readiness. Alumni know the most important parts of youth workforce development and what will help young people succeed professionally.

These opportunities don’t have to be through direct employment, however. We offer so much more than that. Things like job shadows, a Like a Boss virtual session, internships are great ways to engage without direct employment. A job shadow or internship offers participants the opportunity to see how the industry they are interested in before they commit to the pathway. This also benefits the employer because it can provide more hands-on deck for entry-level work.

For those who want to stay connected by cannot take in students to work with, we have an Alumni Facebook Group! This group is a great way for alumni to engage with both JOG and each other. We also always accept any donations considered to continue our programming and expansion into new markets with new employers. We cannot do what we do without the generous support of the community and any part of your generosity as an Alumnus helps us out!
