JOG the Web: Year End @ JOG

12/1/2023

What a year it has been here at Tri-County Jobs for Ohio’s Graduates (JOG)! We have been lucky enough to experience growth across both our staff and programming. This ranges from an expansion of our partnership with Akron Public Schools, to our first ever middle school programming, and even kickstarting a program in Ashland County both in-school and out-of-school.

First, as we mentioned, we have been able to build a stronger relationship with Akron Public Schools. We have been able to bring additional work-based learning opportunities to students within the Greater Akron area through collaborations with our local business partners, as well as increasing educational opportunities by providing additional JOG resources to now two Career Specialists in each high school and career academy in Akron Public Schools. We love being a part of this community and we are excited to continue offering hands-on learning experiences to youth while being able to help them earn a paycheck.

In addition, our venture into additional learning opportunities this year brought us to our first-ever middle school program at Massillon Washington Middle School. This program helps to instill soft skills and confidence in today’s youth, so they are more prepared for high school, the real world, and careers. The JOG  program strives to help these students understand expectations of themselves earlier, so they feel more prepared going into the working world.

Finally, we were welcomed into Ashland County with open arms. We are currently active in Ashland High School and have initiated an out-of-school program with an office in collaboration with Ashland Department of Job and Family Services. To learn more about our new programming in Ashland County, please click here to read our previous blog post.

We are proud of our impact on Northeast Ohio, and we are excited to see where 2024 takes us. If you would like to help us achieve new heights in 2024 and beyond it’s not too late to join in our year-end giving campaign! By donating to JOG you help bridge the gap between youth and their academic and career success goals. To give, please click the button below.

Thank you for being a part of the JOG family this year and we look forward to an even brighter 2024!
